MicOn Podcast Workshops

Podcasts are powerful tools — they let people speak in their own words, share their realities, and connect across borders and experiences. For people from Ukraine living in Berlin and Brandenburg, podcasting can be a way to reclaim your voice, reflect on your journey, and take part in public conversations that matter.

Through our Podcast Workshops, we invite you to explore podcasting as a creative and practical way to share your story, engage with your community, raise awareness, and contribute to a more inclusive society.

The program starts in November 2025. Participation is free of charge.

Why podcasting

Podcasting gives people the freedom to tell their stories in their own language, tone, and pace. For Berlin-based Ukrainian communities navigating displacement, integration, and belonging, it can be much more than a medium — it’s a tool for connection, creativity, and healing.

Through podcasting, you can:

Be heard as an integral part of society
Express yourselfcreatively and build confidence in your voice
Share real-life experiences that shape public understanding and challenge stereotypes
Create space for empathy, curiosity, and dialogue within and beyond your community
Strengthen civic participation through the power of storytelling

Podcasting can also serve as a form of self-reflection: by putting complex experiences into words and shaping them into a meaningful story arc, you gain clarity, make sense of your journey, and reclaim your narrative.

Along the way, you’ll develop valuable skills in communication, media literacy, project planning, and self-organization. Whether you’re completely new to audio or already have an idea in mind, this workshop will guide and support you in bringing your story to life.

What you’ll gain

Communication and interview skills
Storytelling tools
Basic audio editing skills using Hindenburg software
A boost in confidence and creative expression
Strengthened self-organization and sense of responsibility
A finished podcast episode you can share

FAQ

Your Frequently Asked Questions

What is Vidnova Plus?

Vidnova Plus is a program for people from Ukraine who live in Berlin and Brandenburg and want to develop their own initiatives, volunteer, strengthen their civic engagement, and build cooperation between Ukrainian and German communities.

The program is funded within a project framework that covers only these two federal states. Participation is therefore limited to individuals who reside in Berlin or Brandenburg.
  • People from Ukraine who live and are officially registered in Berlin or Brandenburg
  • Aged 18 or older
  • There is no upper age limit
  • Interested in developing initiatives, volunteering, or fostering cooperation between communities
  • Ready to provide copies of documents confirming residence status and registration*

*Why do we ask for these documents? And what about the protection of personal data?

Our program is funded by the European Union, which means that the use of funds is subject to strict transparency and audit requirements. The donor requires confirmation that the participants are indeed people for whom the program is intended, and that opportunities are distributed as widely as possible rather than repeatedly provided to the same individuals.

For this reason, we ask participants to provide documents confirming their residence status and place of registration.

At the same time, the processing of personal data is carried out in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This means that:

  • documents are used exclusively to confirm eligibility for participation in the program and for reporting to the donor;
  • access to these documents is limited to authorized members of the project team;
  • data are not shared with third parties, except in cases of official project verification by donors or auditors;
  • documents are stored securely and only for the period necessary for financial reporting, after which they are deleted in accordance with data protection regulations.
The main language is Ukrainian. Some events, speakers, or materials may be in English or German, depending on the format and participant composition.

Vidnova Plus Podcast / podcast workshops – a format that helps participants learn how to use audio as a tool for influence and amplify the voice of the Ukrainian community.

Peer-to-peer – a format where participants exchange experiences of migration and civic engagement and share practical insights and life hacks.

Participation has the following limitations:

  • Participants in Peer-to-peer cannot participate in Vidnova Plus Engagement or Vidnova Plus Podcast.
